Load Testing with NeoLoad and CA APM
You use CA Application Performance Management!
CA APM includes CA Introscope.
During performance and load testing of web applications, it is essential to collect metrics on the application components and application servers to effectively pinpoint and understand the causes of performance problems. The more data performance engineers have on exactly what is happening within the application and its use of infrastructure resources, the more rapidly they are able to identify and diagnose the root causes of poor performance and fix them. Combining information obtained from performance testing (NeoLoad) with in depth metrics from performance management (CA APM) is a major step forward in achieving this objective.
NeoLoad is ready!
The availability of NeoLoad’s CA APM Integration Module provides users with an optimized combination of application performance testing and application performance management. It allows performance and load testing engineers to use CA's Application Performance Management solution (CA APM) to analyze slow and failed transactions that occur during load tests executed with NeoLoad so that they can identify the causes of performance problems.
The CA APM Module
When the NeoLoad CA APM integration Module is used during an application load test, NeoLoad tags web requests with extra headers which are then read by the CA APM agents monitoring the application.
CA APM segregates web page response times and other performance metrics using the information provided by NeoLoad. Since NeoLoad and CA APM organize all requests executed during a load test in the same way, the QA or performance testing engineer can easily find slow or failed transactions inside CA APM and then analyze the root causes of the problems. For example, a particular request might have been slow because it waited a long time for a stored procedure to finish; CA APM's Transaction Tracer would clearly show that the application was waiting for the database and even identify exactly which stored procedure was slow. The developers or database administrator could then fix the problem.

Benefits
Focusing CA APM’s application monitoring capabilities on specific transactions generated by NeoLoad provides a clear picture of application performance issues. Performance tuning using detailed application performance metrics from CA APM is a more sophisticated approach to identifying and resolving performance issues and significantly reduces the time and effort spent in analysis of load testing results. This leads to increased testing productivity, better application performance, the rapid release of new applications and new features, higher customer satisfaction, and increased revenues.
